First Day (RealCall)

Ahoy there! Its time for me to write again. Hope you liked the previous one! So this time we already passed the call simulation. We're already endorsed to the production floor. All the sleepless nights were paid after we passed. All our hard work and understanding the process were paid off when they acknowledged us as a real BPO agents. I thought life's gonna get easier after. But hell no! My internship was just really about to start. The first days of being an agent was quite tiring and stressful. More stressful than those times that we are just trainees. It became more difficult because we are really engaging ourselves to a real random customer. What's more breathtaking is you don't know when is gonna be a good call or a bad call. But actually I learned that its up to you whether you want to turn the table up or down. So going back, what's more stressful here for me is doing all things to satisfy the customers and finding all possible resolutions to help them with their concern and yet, the fact that we did every thing to please them and give the best and possible solution for them, they still look wondering and a lil bit kinda being rude. Well that life, gotta enjoy the little things. Even the bad ones.

So on my first day as being an agent I'm a bit frustrated because I got separated from our co interns. But as I got to know my team mates I've come to realize that sometimes it's better to be separated to extend your world connecting with other people. I thought that's wonderful. I know we will have a hard time engaging ourselves to each other and put everyone and ourselves inside the team. But as we get to know each other we became comfortable with everyone. Even to our supervisor who we treat as our mother, even though he is a categorized as a father. He has a big and great heart of a mother. And that's the reason why we love him.

Although we have some difficulties facing big problems right now as a team but I know that we can do this. It ain't always on the top. There will be times all of us has to go down. And I know, rather we know the only way is up. This is a team where people have big hearts. It's a team you want to suffer with. It's a team that has a burning determination. I really love this team. And as time pass by I know we will all grow and become each others shield. I'm really glad I had the chance to be a part of this team. I'm somewhat thankful to that person who put me in this team. I'm happy to meet simple and great people and I hope this type of relationships we have will last long even after our internship. What I realized here is that there's always a better place to those who were left behind.

Training days

This is how my journey in BPO industry started. But first, I want the readers to know that all that I will be sharing here is about the internship I am having with a BPO industry. To be specific I am in the call center sector of the BPO industry and I take international calls most of the day. At first, I was very hesitant to take this internship because it is very far from where I study which is in Lyceum of the Philippines University Laguna. I will be graduating on a degree of Bachelor of Business in Accountancy Major in Management Accounting and it was a little frustrating that I will not be able to use any accountancy skills for my internship. I believe internship is one of the key steps in developing a students skills and a major enhancement to our knowledge. But with the encouragements of my friends, Guess what? I gave it a try, and now here I am writing this blog to share my happy and stressful internship life in call center. Hope this also encourage some readers and give some shots to the BPO industry.

We first start our learning on training. We actually had 2 weeks of training to know the basics of the account that we are going to handle. On our first night it was very hard. We were just trying to adapt their time. We were awake from 9pm to 6am straight. I even skip some meals of the day because of our shift hours. I really had difficulties in sleeping in the morning. Others are also having some health problems but we shouldn't make absences because it is a requirement that we finish our training to fully be endorse on the floor. After 5 days of training we slowly adapt the time schedules and it became just a normal day for me.

The training is a bit hard because there are so processes that a trainee will need to know. Sometimes we feel like giving up and just stop this internship and transfer to other company but we can't because rendering our internship here will benefit us a lot. So we just decided to go on. However, every time we had a hard time we always say that we want to quit but I know in ourselves we don't want to surrender. We chose this journey to prove to ourselves that we can survive here. Even though its really hard its enjoyable because we are having the chance to meet other people that contribute some inspiration to our lives.
